Shooting Victim Julie Blanchard Dies in Washington
Julie Blanchard, 52, one of the victims in a shooting rampage that killed one man and critically wounded three others, has died at a hospital in Washington.
Chelan County Coroner Wayne Harris confirmed Blanchard’s death on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post over the weekend, friends were asking for prayers due to breathing problems for Ms. Blanchard.
The investigation into the cause of her death is underway.
Julie Blanchard's son Casey returned home to Stevensville on Saturday after being treated for multiple gunshot wounds that left him in a wheel chair.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Wade Palmer was critically injured as well and is now recuperating at his home in Stevensville.
Jonathan Bertsch is in the Missoula County Jail on $2 million bond charged with deliberate homicide and attempted deliberate homicide in apparent road rage fueled shooting. It is not known if the charges will be amended with the death of Julie Blanchard.
Montana Attorney General Tim Fox issued the following statement regarding the death of Julie Blanchard.
‘I was saddened to learn of the recent passing of Missoula shooting victim Julie Blanchard. We wish Casey Blanchard, as well as the entire Blanchard family, peace and strength in the days ahead, and comfort in their memories of Julie.’
