Gov. Gianforte: "GREAT NEWS – we’ve finalized a Cooperative Interstate Shipment agreement with U.S. Department of Agriculture, making Montana only the tenth state in the nation where meat processors can ship products throughout the United States. #AgWeek"

I was chatting with Evelyn Pyburn from the Big Sky Business Journal, and she told me how economic development officials in Butte are now pressing for a meat processing facility in Whitehall. Sounds like a great idea if you ask me.

The heat. The drought. The fires. The cattle markets. What a devastating situation we are in this summer when it comes to Montana's number one industry.

For the love of Ag. Here's a couple good news stories for you here this week. First, several Billings area students were recently recognized with some good-sized scholarships, thanks to their love for Montana's number one industry- agriculture. Second, National Beef Month is right around the corner. (I thought every month was beef month? I grill steaks even when it is 20 below zero.)

We wanna buy Montana beef, but the question is- how? We talked about that and more with Lanie White from The Great Alone Cattle Company in Two Dot, Montana. They're hosting an upcoming meat seminar in Billings.

The last time I was inside Miller's Horse Palace was for a big archery competition that was taking place there. They have another archery shoot coming up, and it's in honor of a fallen warrior from Montana who is beloved by many across the state- Master Sgt. McNary from Lewistown.
