Missoula County Sheriff

T.J. McDermott won the Democratic primary on Tuesday, meaning he will become Missoula County Sheriff six months from now on January 1, 2015.

As of 2:30 a.m. primary election results have Democrats Kirsten Pabst winning the Missoula County Attorney race, and Detective T.J. McDermott defeating the other two Democrats, Josh Clark and Bob Parcell in the race for sheriff.

The Missoula County Democrats voted on Tuesday, May 13, to change their bylaws, allowing them to endorse T.J. McDermott for sheriff in the primary election.

Current Missoula County Undersheriff Josh Clark announced his candidacy for the office of Missoula County Sheriff at a press conference on Wednesday, February 19.

Missoula County Detective Sergeant T.J. McDermott has announced his candidacy for Missoula County Sheriff in 2014.

UPDATE - Thursday, August 29, 7 a.m. Peter Christian spoke with Fire Information Officer Dave Schmitt on the Montana Morning radio show. Schmitt said the fire is now 70 percent contained.
