After the winter of 2018-2019, when the snow just fell and fell and fell some more, especially in February, western Montana residents are understandably curious about the long range forecast for the upcoming winter.

Winter's forecast for Western Montana may be milder than usual or colder than usual. We could have more snow, or less snow, depending on who's providing the information.

According to The 2012 Old Farmer’s Almanac, this winter will bring above-normal temperatures, on average, across much of the United States. The season will be punctuated by several very cold periods.
