A Missoula area transient is in custody Wednesday morning, September 11, after allegedly starting a fire near the Kim Williams Trail at the base of Mount Sentinel.
A transient from Philipsburg has been identified as the man who stood in the path of an oncoming Montana Rail Link train Monday evening near the Deer Creek shooting range, and was struck and killed without attempting to get out of the way.
A man was found dead in the 200 block of west Pine Street near the Mountain line bus station. The man was found by an acquaintance and although the man's name has not yet been released, the police know his identity. Missoula Police Detective Sargent Travis Welsh explains the situation.
