Tips to Keep Your Pets Safe During 4th of July Fireworks
We are less than one week away from the 4th of July. Everyone wants the holiday to be fun, exciting, and full of memories. The last thing you want to do is make your animals scared and worried while huge noises are going on that they just don't understand. I will be the first to admit I am not a veterinarian, I just love my dogs. So, I put together this list of tips that will help your pets feel more safe on the 4th of July.
- 1
Be at Home With Your Pets
Just knowing that you are by their side will make your pet feel more secure with all the craziness.
- 2
Make Sure Your Pets Are Tired
If at all possible use all their energy during the day, hopefully they can sleep through fireworks.
- 3
Hold Them During Big Blasts
Being in your arms is where your pet is always going to feel the most safe.
- 4
Make Sure All Tags/Identification is Up To Date
Just in case your pet does run after getting scared, you want them to be reunited with you as soon as possible.
- 5
Use the Radio to Help Quiet the Noise
Crank up the radio to hide the noise of all those big booms taking place outside.
- 6
Keep All Pets Inside
Even if your pets are used to staying outside, this is one of those nights to bring them inside.
- 7
Don't Bring Pets to Fireworks Shows
It seems obvious, but don't bring your pets closer to what is going to make them nervous and scared.
