A cherished holiday tradition will take place a bit earlier this year, as the annual KYSSmas for Kids Auction begins at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30.

Townsquare Media Digital Director Tan Curtis has been spearheading the effort of gathering and cataloguing auction items for the special event.

“KYSSmas for Kids if a live charity event that we’ve been doing for more than 20 years now,” Curtis said. “We’re on the air live for 13 hours, starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. We already have over $20,000 in auction items up for bid, as well as taking donations, and all of that is going back for local kids.”

Curtis describes how the funds are distributed to local kids in need.

“We take all the money that we raise on that day, we divide it up and we give it to area kids who get to go to a private shopping location and get things that they would probably otherwise go without this Christmas season. Sometimes it’s toys and things like that, but oftentimes we’ve seen them go and get home goods for their families and other things their families need and want this season.”
