After what seems like a very long hiatus due to not only Covid, but construction of the Bear Tracks Bridge, the Montana Alumni Association is happy to announce the University of Montana Homecoming Parade and festivities will be back this year! The Parade will be on Saturday September 24th as the University of Montana Grizzlies take on the Portland State Vikings with kick off time scheduled for 2pm. The University of Montana Alumni Association is accepting parade entries right now.

The parade will start at 10am sharp with lineup starting at 9am. According to the website the parade route will begin at the corner of Higgins Avenue and Broadway and will proceed south across Bear Tracks Bridge to University Avenue. This will be depending on the construction progress of the Bear Tracks Bridge. There will be updates to everyone participating in the parade if there are changes of line up location and route due to the construction, This years theme for the Homecoming Parade will be "Might of Montana".

Some of the rules that have been in place in the past are going to continue this year. You cannot throw candy from floats, you can have people walking along on foot and hand candy to the people who are watching the parade. If you have any animals in your float you will need to have "pooper scoopers" walking along too. For a full list of the rules and if you want to enter the parade this year use this link.
