UM Generates Most Ticket Sales For Sports

State officials say the University of Montana accounts for 74 percent of the $7 million generated in the state in 2011 through ticket sales for college sports events.

The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education says the University of Montana's athletic teams generated $5.2 million.

The agency says that Montana State University generated $1.74 million.

The agency says college athletics in the state overall generated $50.1 million in 2011 with expenses of $49 million.
