Monday, November 11, is Veterans Day, and there will be several events in Missoula to honor those who have served our country and are still in active service.

The day traditionally begins with a free breakfast for all veterans at the American Legion Hall, at 825 Ronan Street at 7:30 a.m.

Another tradition will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the annual ceremony at the Doughboy Statue in front of the Missoula County Courthouse, where this year, Federal Judge Donald Molloy is scheduled to speak.

Following the ceremony at the courthouse, all veterans are invited to the Old Post Pub at 103 West Spruce Street for free chipped beef-on-toast at 12:30 p.m.

Sue Thompson, owner of Bagels on Broadway, said that all veterans are welcome to enjoy a free bagel with cream cheese.

"We are doing something special for Veterans Day for sure," Thompson said. "To honor our veterans and our active duty personnel, we're offering a free bagel, cream cheese and coffee all day on Monday."

Thompson encouraged all Missoulians to attend the ceremony on Monday morning outside the courthouse.

"There is a commemoration ceremony for veterans at 11 o'clock at the courthouse, across the street from the bagel shop," Thompson said. "We encourage everybody to show up and show their appreciation to their nation's veterans. Before or after, of course, all veterans are invited to enjoy a free bagel, cream cheese and a cup of coffee at Bagels on Broadway."

Bagels on Broadway is located at 223 West Broadway.
