Weekend Police and Foot Chase ends in Arrest on Multiple Charges
21 year-old Taylor Bogard is in the Missoula County Jail after allegedly attempting to elude a police officer, first in his vehicle and then on foot early Saturday morning.
Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh has details.
“Just after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday a police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle near South Third and Reserve,” Welsh Began. The officer noticed that the driver had trouble staying in one lane. Rather than pulling over for the officer the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed with the officer in pursuit at speeds ranging in the high 80’s.”
Welsh said the vehicle crashed near 39th Street.
“The vehicle stopped after failing to negotiate a turn at the south end of Reserve and crashed into a fence,” he said. “The driver fled the vehicle and attempted to run on foot, however the officers caught up with him and placed him in custody. The suspect was identified as 21 year-old Taylor Bogard.”
Welsh detailed the various charges that Bogard is facing in Missoula Justice Court.
“He was transported to the Missoula County Jail on charges relating to the pursuit, as well as criminal possession of dangerous drugs and DUI."
According to the Missoula County Jail Roster, Bogard has been charged with three felonies and they are criminal endangerment, tampering with evidence, probation violation and criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He has been charged with numerous misdemeanors, as well, including fleeing from an officer, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, and various traffic offenses.
