There were more out-of-state visitors to Montana in 2015, but overall, they spent less money than the previous year, according to a new report from the University of Montana Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research.
Even though a majority of states saw gasoline prices jumping over the last week, Petroleum Analyst Will Speer said the same could not be said for Montana. Across the board, Montanans have seen close to a four-cent decrease in gas prices.
Swelling prices at the pump pushed California gas up another 25 cents this week, while most of the country joined in on the rising trend. According to gasbuddy.com Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan, Montana sang a different tune.
