We got word through Jana Pennington, the mother of West High Cheerleader Emily Pennington, and several other listeners that Billings West High students were planning a walk out in support of Emily at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

I was live on the radio when the walk out occurred, but wanted to put together a compilation showing you what it looked like.

For those who aren't familiar with the story, Emily has Down Syndrome and will turn 19 by September of her senior year. As a result, School District 2 says their age out policy prevents her from enjoying her senior year and graduating with her friends, even though state law allows for it to happen.

Emily and her family were LIVE on Fox & Friends over the weekend, with the story getting national attention. Montana's statewide Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie Arntzen has spoken out in support of Emily. She also pointed out that the federal government has been asking what is going on School District 2. While Billings SD2 has been denying Emily the ability to attend her senior year, eight other Montana school districts have already been taking advantage of a new law funding kids with disabilities to attend school over the age of 18.

Here's photos shared by Q2 News in Billings, and below that is a video compiled by the Billings Gazette. As you can tell from the footage, it was a nasty, windy morning and yet lots of kids chose to step out in support of Emily. Meanwhile, the Gazette is reporting that SD2 could make a decision on revising their policy at Tuesday night's meeting.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
