Coroner Releases Identity Of Friday’s Fatal Crash Between Missoula and Lolo
The Missoula County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the victim of Friday's two-vehicle head collision as 42 year-old Kenneth Vanvallis.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Luke Burson said a white pickup truck was southbound, while a green pickup truck was northbound. “For some reason, the white truck veered into oncoming traffic, and almost caused a couple of head-on collisions, but ended up colliding with the green pickup," Burson said.
The coroner's office said the cause of death was reported as blunt force trauma, while the manner of death was the result of a motor vehicle accident.
KGVO News erroneously reported that Mr. Vanvallis died at the scene, but in fact, passed away at a local hospital. KGVO regrets the error and apologizes to the family.
