The Missoula County Sheriff and Coroner, T.J. McDermott, has released the identity of the woman who was struck and killed while walking near the intersection of McDonald Avenue and South Russell Street on Saturday evening.

Undersheriff Rich Maricelli said the woman was identified as 46 year-old Jill Jenkins.

Police spokesman Travis Welsh said the investigation into Jenkins' death is continuing, and officers have been at the scene flor the past two days attempting to recreate what occurred.

No charges have yet been filed against the driver of the vehicle, who was attempting to provide artificial resuscitation on Ms. Jenkins when emergency vehicles arrived.

A 46 year-old Missoula woman was killed after being struck by a car as she was walking across the street just after 5:30 on Saturday evening.

Missoula Police said the accident occurred at the intersection of McDonald Avenue and South Russell Streets.

The occupants of the vehicle along with witnesses at the scene attempted lifesaving efforts, but the woman was declared deceased at the scene.

Police say the driver of the vehicle has fully cooperated with the investigation, and there was no evidence of excessive speed or alcohol use. The Investigation into the fatal accident is continuing.
