Following our Jon King's story yesterday in which he displayed the priority map used by City of Missoula officials to clear streets after a major snowfall, I spoke with Superintendent of Street Maintenance Brian Hensel, who provides more details on which streets receive attention first. With the record snowfall the past few days, Hensel says city crews have been working extremely hard. He says the side streets and residential areas are next on the priority list.

Hensel says the City and County work together in adjoining areas to clear snow from the streets. Hensel says he receives dozens of e-mail snowplow requests every time there's a storm...and does his best to get to them as quickly as possible.
