Rand Truth Heath is being held in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond after being charged with felony criminal endangerment and several misdemeanors after an incident that occurred early on Monday morning.

According to court documents, the 25 year-old Heath fled from a traffic stop after being pulled over by a police officer on Toole Avenue. Deputy Missoula County Attorney Mark Handelman explained the charges to Judge Landee Holloway.

"The defendant was high on meth and led officers on a high-speed chase through town," Handelman began. "He reached speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour in a residential area almost colliding head-on with another vehicle. He eventually crashed into a parked car before fleeing from officers on foot, and while running, discarded a meth pipe. The defendant was recently convicted of burglary and his probation had to be revoked due to several violations. He also has an open drug case in District Court, and the State feels that he is a danger to the community."

Judge Holloway agreed and set bond at $50,000, and ordered Heath to appear in court again on April 17.
