The Missoula Maulers Junior Hockey League Team earned two more wins over the weekend to remain in first place in league standings. Missoula blanked the Bozeman Icedogs 5-0 and defeated the Great Falls Americans 6-2. Both contests were road games.
Against Bozeman, Will Strawinski, Paxton Bell and Cory Shafer each scored goals in the first half to build a 3-0 Mauler advantage. Darcy Evans added 2 goals in the third period. Missoula executed 43 shots.
On Saturday night, Missoula jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Great Falls in the first quarter. Jimmy Morris was responsible for 2 and team-mate Anders Nord chipped in the other one. Paxton Bell and Darcy Evans each added goals in the second period en-route to a 5-0 halftime advantage.
The two victories improved Missoula’s season record to 24-5-1. The Maulers will be home at Glacier Ice Rink this Friday, January 20th. Missoula will face the Great Falls Americans at 7:30.
