The neon has been refreshed and the sign is looking pretty good at the Ravalli County Museum. The Montana Cafe sign that adorned the 100 block of Hamilton's Main Street for countless years has been refurbished and ready for a special exhibit at the museum at South 3rd and Bedford in Hamilton. An opening reception will be Saturday, July 20, at 1:30 p.m. The cafe, owned and operated by the Hom family, earned its place in history with inclusion in a Norman McLean story and the cover of a Hank Williams Jr album.

But the museum is hoping for more than that. If you have memories of times at the cafe, bring 'em to the Saturday gathering. For myself, I remember freqeunt suppers with my family as I was growing up. And, the Hamilton Volunteer Firemen would have an annual dinner at the Montana Cafe.
