UPDATE: Missoula Crews Still on Scene at Fire on Whitaker Drive

KGVO News has learned more about the structure fire being fought by the Missoula City Fire Department Thursday afternoon on Whitaker Drive.
Missoula Fire Department spokesperson Charity Stubb provided these details about the blaze which sent smoke high in the air over the south hills of Missoula.
“The information that I was given by Battalion Chief Dave Wolter was that the incident involved a vehicle in a carport on fire that moved to six other vehicles nearby,” began Stubb. "Two carports and seven total vehicles in the carports were fully engulfed and additional fire damage moved to two three-story buildings.”
Stubb provided more details about the blaze.
“There is minor damage to the building however, an estimated four to eight people are currently displaced,” she said. “Crews and other agencies are still on scene at this time. Minor injuries and burns were reported to individuals on scene, but not to personnel and no one was transported to the hospital. At this time no pets have been reported to be injured or deceased but that information was still pending. At this time the cause of the fire is unknown.”

On August 25, 2022, a structure fire broke out on Whitaker Drive in the South Hills of Missoula. The Missoula Fire Department and Missoula Police Department are responding with other agencies.
