Missoula Home Invasion Robbery Injures Two – Three Suspects in Custody [AUDIO]
A masked suspect entered a home in the 4500 block of North Avenue on Thursday afternoon, January 9, and assaulted two women with an ax handle.
Sergeant Bill Burt with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office said that the call came in to 9-1-1 a little after 1 p.m.
"We responded to a call of a home invasion robbery in which a male suspect entered through a bedroom door that leads to the exterior of the house," Burt said. "He was wearing a bandana across his face. He came through the door wielding an ax handle and assaulted the two people present in the bedroom. The suspect took some prescription medication by force and then fled westbound on North Avenue."
Burt said the investigators on scene were able to develop a suspect.
"The responding deputies processed the crime scene, and as the result of evidence gathered and obtaining statements from the victims, were able to develop a suspect," Burt said. "After interviewing the suspect, we ended up getting a confession, and also were able to develop two more suspects in the case. As of right now, three adults have been arrested, two males and one female."
Burt outlines the charges against the suspects in custody.
"Two of the suspects are charged with robbery and assault with a weapon, along with aggravated burglary," Burt said. "A female suspect has been charged with robbery by accountability."
The clerk of court said all three suspects will spend the weekend in jail and appear in justice court on Monday.
