34 year-old Brock Eggleston is in the Missoula County Jail on a probation violation for drugs, but now faces more serious felony charges of theft and embezzlement.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Karla Painter said the theft and embezzlement charges were filed against Eggleston last week.

"I just charged him with embezzling merchandise from the  Mini Mart," Painter said. "He stole a little over $13,000 in scratch lottery tickets, and a little over $2,000 in money from the tills. The thefts came to the attention of the assistant manager after he did a full inventory stock check and noticed the missing stock tickets, so he reviewed the EBT transactions and noticed the discrepancy, because Eggleston was covering his tracks really well.

Painter said each count carries from one to ten years in prison, but that since Eggleston is already in custody on other charges, the penalties will probably be tacked on to his present sentence.

Painter said the date for Eggleston's justice court appearance has not yet been set.
