An internal review of 50 sexual assault cases are now under review according to Missoula Police Chief Mark Muir. Muir says the cases cover a span of two years and so far two of the cases have been reassigned because they were not adequately investigated.

The review started amid concerns Missoula city officials have had about the way the police department handles sexual assaults. City council members requested the review after two people publicly complained about how these type of cases have been handled in the past. Muir says he will have report on Wednesday at the next council meeting.
