Early Wednesday morning, a resident in the Franklin Park area flagged down a Missoula police officer to report her tires had been slashed.

After further investigation, it was discovered that several other vehicles' tires had also been slashed. Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said the vandalism had occurred in the past few days.

"The officer drove around the area and actually discovered nine more vehicles whose tires had been slashed," Welsh said. "The damage seemed to have been inflicted primarily north of South 14th Street  to Franklin Park. and the damage seems to be on vehicles on the street side, and usually just one tire per vehicle."

Anyone in the area who may have noticed damage to their vehicles are asked to contact the Missoula Police Department at 552-6300, and anyone with information about whoever may be responsible is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 721-4444.
