Only the stumps of posts were left. Last month, when volunteers were clearing trail on Fish Lake Trail on the North Fork Ranger District of the NezPerce-Clearwater National Forest, they found this (see photo). Instead of an informational bulletin board, there were only portions of posts and the board had been burned, according to Jennifer Becar of the Nez Perce-Clearwater Forest. The volunteers continued their work to clear the trail and rebuild a small dock on Fish Lake, but didn't want to leave the damaged posts. So, they installed an older sign until the bulletin board can be replaced. (See photo below)

Anyone with information about the damage is asked to contact the North Fork Ranger District at (208) 476-4541. The trail is popular with hikers and with motorized vehicle operators. For more information about Fish Lake Trail and other recreation opportunities, call the Orofino ranger station at (208) 476-4541.
