Law enforcement personnel are used to traffic accidents — it's part of the job — but today's fatal accident involving a 22 year-old woman and a propane truck at Reserve Street and River Road has even the most experienced police, deputies and troopers saying they've never seen anything like it. I spoke with Missoula County Sheriff's Sergeant Bill Burt about the accident and the process of moving, emptying and removing the propane tanker, so that the woman's vehicle can be recovered. The audio from that interview is attached below.

Burt estimates Reserve Street may be closed until around 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. today in order to safely remove all the wreckage. The woman's name has not yet been released.
