Reserve Your Memorial Weekend Campsite From Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Online [AUDIO]
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks continues a very popular campsite reservation program, enabling families to have a guaranteed space at many of Montana's state parks.
Chine Stroebel is the Reservation Program Coordinator for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks in Helena.
"The idea behind the program was to make it easier for people to go camping with friends and family," Stroebel said. "The program is especially good for families with little kids. There's nothing worse than driving around the campground looking for a site, and you can't find one, and you have little kids who are upset. It's stressful, and this program helps to take the stress away."
Stroebel said reserving a campsite is as easy as clicking a mouse, or making a phone call.
"You can go on our website, or give us a call at 1-855-922-6768 to reserve your campsite," Stroebel said. "You can go online, look at the park you want, see what campsites are available. It's just $10 to make a reservation, plus your camping fees, so it's all paid right up front."
Stroebel said there's a wide variety of state parks available for reservation.
"We actually have 20 different parks where reservations are accepted," Stroebel said. ":In Western Montana, Whitefish Lake is the farthest north, Lake Mary Ronan, Thompson Falls, Big Arm, West Shore, Wayfarers and Finley Point on Flathead Lake, Beavertail Hill just east of Missoula, Bannack State Park, and there's Black Sandy in the Helena area."
Reservations for Memorial Day weekend will be taken starting Friday, May 24.
