On a Wednesday morning radio talk show, much was made of the power of a County Sheriff to have the authority to deny State or Federal officials from carrying out actions and warrants against the citizens of that county. I spoke with Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman about the matter on Wednesday afternoon. That interview is attached.

Hoffman says even though a County Sheriff does have certain power and authority, it does not supercede that of State or Federal officials, even though Hoffman says he would do everything within his power to ensure that citizen's rights were protected.
