Black Friday happens every year on the day after Thanksgiving. This day is noted as the first day of traditional Christmas shopping, during which crowds of consumers are drawn to special offers and deals by retailers. Major retailers open extremely early and offer promotional sales to kick off the holiday shopping season.This year, some deals will even start on Thanksgiving, Thursday! Toys R Us, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target plan to have the hottest deals this year.
Researchers say that when shoppers are under stress, they tend to spend more. This would explain why such large purchases are made on Black Friday every year.
