Mother Nature is sure showing her sense of humor this week. She gave us temperatures in the 70s and a little taste of that sweet, sweet spring weather for a couple of days. Then she pulled the rug right out from underneath us and dropped rain and 50-degree days in our laps for the weekend. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't for the multiple events scheduled around Missoula this weekend like the farmer's markets and the Garden City BrewFest. And one event that takes place today is trying to get the word out that the show must go on!

Start your weekend with a food truck feast

Rain in the forecast isn't exactly the news you want to see when you organize an event with a collection of food trucks and outdoor activities. The Food Truck Festival at Ogren Park is happening from 4 PM to 8 PM - even if it's raining. They'll have a collection of food trucks with main course options, a few different dessert options, games, raffle prizes, VFW serving alcohol, and more. And it all helps Cancer Support Community Missoula, an organization that offers help and support to those affected with cancer.

Participating food trucks include:

  • Dippin Dots
  • Dreamy's Soft Serve
  • Lemondairy
  • El Cazador
  • Freedom Steak Wagon
  • Heat on Meat
  • M-80 Chicken
  • River City Eats
  • SKC Teriyaki
  • The Wild Weenie
  • Wok-ee Mountain

The original plan was for food trucks to be on the warning track area of the outfield at Ogren Park with games and activities in the outfield. I'm not sure how the rain affects any of that but the folks at the Food Truck Festival let us know that they'll be providing as much cover as possible and they have a contingency plan they'll execute if the weather forces them to do so.

It all starts at 4 PM!

You're not going to let a little rain ruin your appetite for food and fun, are you? The Food Truck Festival will power on from 4 PM to 8 PM. Stop by Ogren Park and support a great cause!
