For the first time since 2008, the Montana Lady Griz will be opening their season with two straight home games, giving head coach Robin Selvig the opportunity to win his 800th game in the friendly confines of Dahlberg Arena. For a town that loves a good party, the anticipation is already growing... and its only June.

The 2013-2014 schedule for the Lady Griz was released on Wednesday, and there will be 15 home games for fans to enjoy. Athletic Director Kent Haslam said head coach Robin Selvig has never sought the spotlight, but those first two games at home are mighty tempting to think about.

"Knowing coach Selvig, he's not one for a lot of fanfare, or one to look ahead too far, but obviously getting those first two games at home to start the season... I don't think that was on purpose at all," Haslam said. "However, giving him the chance to win that 800th game at home would be a great experience."

Haslam said the increasing numbers of conference games, 20, will cut down on non-conference opponents.

"The basketball teams are a bit hindered by the number of conference games with 20, and that leaves only nine non-conference games to schedule," Haslam said. "The Lady Griz Classic will fill up some of that, and we'll get five non-conference home games with Temple coming back, and that will be a great match-up".

The Lady Griz and the Grizzly men both won their respective conference and tournament championships last season. Here is the schedule for the 2013-2014 season from gogriz.com.
