Machete Beating Lands Missoula Woman In Jail On $10,000 Bond
A Missoula woman is in the Missoula County Jail after allegedly beating her boyfriend with the flat side of a machete and then with her fists.
According to court documents, early Friday morning, 31 year-old Jamie Kay Clark got into an argument with her boyfriend at their residence in East Missoula, when she became enraged and began beating him with the flat side of a machete. She beat him so hard that the handle on the machete broke, so she started in on him with her fists. Responding Missoula County Sheriff's Deputies noted several wounds on the victims arms, back and face. He told deputies he thought she was going to kill him.
Deputy Missoula County Attorney Mark Handelman asked Judge Landee Holloway for $20,000 bail during Clark's appearance via video from the Missoula County Jail.
"This defendant is charged with felony assault with a weapon and partner or family member assault after she attacked the victim with a machete, leaving multiple welts on his body and punching him in the face causing injury," Handelman said. "We are asking the court for bail of $10,000, no contact with the victim and...no weapons."
Judge Holloway set bail at $10,000 and ordered Clark to appear again on March 10. She agreed with the restrictions, including...no weapons.
