A mid-day nap led to felony charges after two Missoulians found a transient in a car on Sunday, October 28. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers were called to the scene shortly after the men confronted the napping stranger.

"At about 2:11 in the afternoon officers were called to a report in the 1800 block of Brooks Street<" Welsh said. "When the officers arrived they made contact with the victims who said that they encountered a man sleeping in a car that did not belong to him. They clarified that by saying that they knew the owner of the car and knew  that he did not give anyone permission to sleep in the vehicle."

The owner of the car was traveling out of state while back in Missoula, the situation escalated quickly.

"When the gentlemen confronted the male they reported that he pulled out a knife. It sounds like it was a larger knife, possibly a folding blade," Welsh said. "The male threatened to assault them with the knife before leaving the scene. He was later located about a block away in the 1900 block of Brooks street and identified as 23-year-old Bradley Moller."

Moller is facing a felony charge of assault with a weapon for pulling out the knife. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass.
