Montana residents who fly out of Missoula International Airport will soon have the opportunity to enroll in the Transportation Security Administration’s popular TSA Pre-Check application program.

"Pre-Check allows you to get through the checkpoint a little easier and expedite it's screening program,"  Deputy Director Brian Ellestad said. "Rather than having to take off your shoes, you can keep on your shoes, a light jacket , a belt, keep your laptop in the case, rather than having to pull out your 3-1-1 liquids and gels, you can leave it in your bag. It just makes it a lot easier to get through the checkpoint.."

Ellestad said travelers can enroll inside the airport terminal from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. April 4th through 8th.

"The best bet is to sign up in advance. It should only takes about five to 10 minutes of your time to come in and get fingerprinted and get interviewed. You can do walk-in only, but then you're taking a chance that there's nobody in line in front of you, so you might have to wait a little bit," Ellestad said. "There's a one-time fee for $85, but that'll be good for five years, so you'll want to bring documentation proving your identity and citizenship."
