WATCH – Pre-Release Escapee Accused of Stealing Truck and Speeding Through Airport Area Appears in Court
22 year-old Timber Forest Sharrard appeared in Missoula Justice Court charged with felony theft, criminal mischief and escape after allegedly leaving the Missoula Pre-Release Center, stealing a truck and fleeing through the airport area before being captured.
Deputy Missoula County Attorney Brittany Santorno said Sharrard escaped from the Pre-Release Center on Saturday.
"He then stole a truck from Minuteman Aviation and led airport police on a chase all over the airport area of operations and then slammed through a gate," Santorno said. "He was later found by the canine officer Halo who tracked him down to where he was hiding in some bushes. about two hours after he fled on foot."
Santorno detailed Sharrard's criminal history..
"He has a felony theft conviction out of Mineral County," she said. "He's been in and out of prison with revocations of that sentence. The defendant also told deputies that it was his intent to flee the country. In addition, the defendant bought a BB gun at Walmart that resembled a Sig Sauer 1911 handgun and that was found in the truck as well. We are requesting a bail amount of $50,000 and no weapons."
Justice of the Peace Marie Anderson set Sharrard's bail at $40,000 and remanded him back to the jail, where his next court appearance will be February 17.
