Woman Charged With Stabbing Man 11 Times Held on $100,000 Bond – DOCUMENT
37 year-old Rose Deroche was charged with felony assault with a weapon and placed in the Missoula County Jail on $100,000 bond on Tuesday by Justice of the Peace Karen Orzech.
According to court records, Deroche and two men were drinking heavily on Friday, February 12th at a residence in Missoula when the defendant allegedly stabbed one of the men nine times in the back and twice in the head with a knife with a five inch blade. When police arrived, they found the victim badly wounded and transported him to St. Patrick Hospital.
At her appearance in Missoula Justice Court, Deputy Missoula County Attorney Selene Koepke asked Judge Orzech for $100,000 bail.
“The defendant stabbed the victim in the back nine times and twice in the head,” Koepke said. “We don’t currently have her criminal history, but based on the offense and her actions, she’s a very serious threat to the safety of the community. I should also note, your honor, that all three individuals were highly intoxicated at the time of the incident.”
Judge Orzech set bail at $100,000 and remanded Deroche back to the jail until her next court appearance.
