Woman Hits Rival with Metal Bat – Warns ‘Don’t Mess with My Man’
25 year-old Tabitha Ann Curtis is in the Missoula County Jail on$15,000 bond after allegedly beating another woman with a baseball bat when Curtis discovered her in a relationship with her male partner.
Deputy Missoula County Attorney Brittany Williams described how Curtis lured the victim to her home.
“The defendant, after finding out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her, baited and lured the victim,” said Williams. “Once the victim arrived at her home, the defendant pulled in behind her, confronted her and began attacking her with a metal baseball bat. She hit the victim at least three times. The victim reported that she was in fear for her life, and that she experience blurred vision after the attack.”
When sheriff’s deputies arrived with a search warrant for the weapon, Williams said what they found led to even more serious felony charges.
“They found three ounces of cocaine, and additionally they found three firearms and approximately $7,800 in cash,” she said. “Additionally, law enforcement has been contacted regarding the weapons and the large amount of cash which tends to support that they were using those drugs, weapons and cash in an attempt to distribute cocaine.”
Curtis was arrested and charged with felony assault with a weapon, criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute and three counts of unlawful use and or possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture for the firearms.
She appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Friday before Judge Alex Beal, who set bail at $40,000 for the baseball bat assault and $5,000 for the drug and weapons charges.
Her next court appearance will be February 28.
